Clintons Cards was closed in early 2016 and the structure was purchased by a leading Sandwich and food manufacturer. TSL Projects Ltd won the contract for firstly de-cladding and the Demolition of the office block and the remodelling of the ground, both elements of which were undertaken in a joint effort by Collins Demolition Ltd and Collins Earthworks Ltd.
The works were to enable the construction of a new extension and the incorporation of the old Steel Structure into the overall scheme.
The Scope included Asbestos Removal, Demolition, Break out of Tank Bases and Removal of Asbestos Cement Cladding to the framework of the building. Following the completion of the Demolition phase of the works the site was handed over to Collins Earthworks Ltd to undertake the Ground remodelling works including a significant Cut & Fill operation
We worked with TSL to develop a workable budget and developed revolutionary enclosure systems with our nominated specialist Sub Contractor, Sure Environmental Ltd. We omitted the need for expensive Scaffolding to facilitate the fully controlled removal of Asbestos Insulation Boarding from the lining around the main Warehouse complex.
Following the removal of the AIB, works progressed to include the removal of Asbestos Cement material from the roof and side cladding of the structure.
All works were closely monitored by UKAS Accredited Analysts.
The demolition / dismantling involved the demolition of the office block in its entirety. This was done by using one of our specialist demolition excavators, a Volvo EC300e fitted with various demolition attachments.
A smaller demolition excavator a Volvo EC220e was deployed inside the warehouse to undertake the stripout of the warehouse which involved the removal of a significant Mezzanine floor spanning 2/3rds of the overall floor space.
Our trained team undertook the works to the complete satisfaction of the the client. We pride ourselves in developing excellent relationships with our clients and offering them turn key enabling works for their projects.
Works were completed on time and within the budget. Extra works throughout the scheme were accommodated without extending the duration of the works.
The Processing and Crushing of the site developed over 5000 cu/m of usable aggregate which will be used for the forthcoming development.
We removed and disposed of over 120 tonnes of Asbestos.
Very professional company, very helpful from day one. We have already begun another job with Collins.
