Description of the job:

Working for our sister company, Collins Earthworks Ltd on their large site for Winvic at East Midlands Gateway.

Our contract was to demolish the redundant Road Bridge to make way for their continued profiling and Re-Engineering of the site to make way for the major development of the site.

Following a Structural Design, the bridge was demolished using our flagship demolition rig, a Volvo EC700 machine perfectly matched to a Rammer 9033 Hammer. The raw material was further processed by our supplementary secondary demolition rig a Volvo EC220e fitted with a Rotar RDP28 rotating pulveriser.

The process was hindered by the fact there was a Fibre Optic cable running under the bridge, this was protected by a layer of aggregate and boarding. The Bridge was demolished and processed with no damage to the Fibre Optic or other infrastructure.
